Most of the time newborns nap right after they eat. It’s a natural reaction, because they need the energy to grow. They might be up for part of the day just to look around or to interact with others.
I was told newborns should sleep around 14-16 hours a day. Some do, some go longer. Just make sure to wake the little one up every 2 to 3 hours to eat. If he’s not hungry, do some belly time. At four weeks my son is holding his head up really well now. My daughter (she’s 2) was the same way.
Just savor these moments while they are little to hold and swaddle. Because eventually they become mobile, and won’t quit till they can’t walk anymore or pass on.

1st of all you should never wake a sleeping baby up to eat or change or to bother.. they know when their hungry or have to be changed. you should feed and change them and by the time that is over.. around an hour then you should try to get them right back to sleep… mine usually wont go to bed that quick but i try.. they need as much sleep as possible or when they get older they will have trouble sleeping when their tired.
