What is the best way to cut time off of my mile?

I have soccer tryouts in a month and I’ve gained a about 2 and a half minutes to my mile and a half time. For my mile, what’s the best time to cut time off of it? I’m assuming I probably have around an eight minute mile right now and I need to get that way down. Any tips?

What time of the day is best to work out?

I would like to start working out again but I want to know everything about it. I want to know if it is better to work out early in the morning, during the day, or later in the night. I assume there isn’t too much of a difference, but I would like to know what is commonly referred to as “the best time.” Or, at least, the time of the day that gives the best results.
