What should I do when I visit Charleston, South Carolina?

My mom has to go there on business for a week and I’m joining her, possibly with a friend. I’m 22 and adventurous, but I might be doing a lot of stuff alone if the friend thing doesn’t happen. We’ll probably be there during 4th of July week but we’re not completely sure yet. So, suggestions for stuff a 20-something female could do alone during the day, and maybe stuff to do with my mom by night. Help me out!

How much (and how) do you tell young children about a family member’s heart disease and upcoming surgery?

I’m a good mom to an in tact family. The children are 9 and 6. Usually common sense parenting is a no brainer for me and I know what to include and what they don’t need to know based on age appropriateness. This is new territory and it’s an immediate family member, so I don’t want to exclude what they need to know, but to be too inclusive will only horrify them. How would you explain open heart surgery to children that young?

he is 6 and i am 13. His mom is paying me $5 an hour and $1 dollar an hour for every extra kid witch is rare, but still possible. Is that a fair amount or is more better?

How many hours can a 30GB classic iPod hold?

My mom wants to get a 30GB iPod so she can watch Oprah’s book reviews on it. The videos are an hour and a half long, and there are ten of them, for a total of about 15 hours. She doesn’t listen to much music, either. Would the Classic, 30GB iPod hold 15 hours?

What uses less electricity? Two window units or central air in an 1800 sq foot house?

We have an 1800 square foot house. Because of the price of electric my mom doesn’t want to turn the central a/c on. I have compromised with her by putting new window units in two of the upstairs bedrooms (which are the correct btus for the size of the rooms). Which is cheaper (uses less electric)? Running these two window units or our newer central A/C unit?

Major flight tomorrow and knee hurts SO much. I have dislocated many times that kind of pain?

I am 13 and flying to another country alone with my best friend tomorrow! I have dislocated my knee a few times before and know that pain. This is the pain like the night after. My knee has been hurting for a few days but it’s only getting worse. The last time I dislocated my knee was September 8 2007. What should I do? I took an ibuprofen and iced it and told my mom. I can’t go to the ER because it’s late and we all need to go to bed because of my big day tomorrow….PLEASE HELP!
The pain is in the lower left part(the joint) and it’s a stabbing pain that makes it really hard nearly impossible for me to walk. I’ve been kinda limping or crawling.

I was seeing a guy for 7 months. Every time I contacted him or was around him for the last few months of our relationship he acted like I was a bother. So I just quit calling him.
Now a month and a half later he is calling me “just to talk”. And emailing me about how his day went. Telling me what a great mom I am because I took my son trick or treating and even though he didn’t do anything for halloween what I did “made my halloween”.
Then he sent me another email telling me that he had the chance to go see his favorite band but declined because he would prefer to go with me,”that is the only way I would have any fun”.
What is he doing? He acted like what I wanted was too much but now that I am not around the only way he will do something is if I am include.
I would like to add that he very rarely called when we were dating and when he did it was for a few minutes. Not like the call I received last time for a half and hour.

I’m 13 and I want money, like every teenager, lol. I can’t baby sit because my mom won’t put me in classes, and I don’t know anyone that closely. So please help me, are there any ways, besides resulting to the lemonade stand?
